Student voice is promoted across all areas of the school and a key strategy to promote this is through the Junior School Council (JSC). The JSC is the voice of the students. Student representatives are selected by their classmates early in the year.
Students are elected based on leadership and communication skills and need to show they are passionate about being involved in the school community. The Councillors meet regularly to discuss ideas and issues raised by their peers. They are involved in planning and implementing ideas and organising events throughout the year.
This year we have asked each classroom from year 3-6 to elect a Junior School representative.
Some of the projects coming up include:
Planning the Footy Day on the last day of term, gardening activities, planning for new play areas with the Leadership Team, visiting neighbouring schools, helping with school concert planning, organising Grandparents afternoon, Book Week and assisting with healthy morning teas.
