Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
The use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Chandler Park enables us to integrate technologies and engage students, creating new learning and teaching possibilities across all areas of the curriculum.
Chandler Park is equipped with the latest IT infrastructure; every classroom Prep to Year 6 has a shared set of wireless notebooks or net book computers for use at any time during the day. Students’ learning is supported with a range of other devices such as iPads, digital cameras, green screen movie making equipment and headphones. Each classroom has an Interactive Whiteboard for student and teacher use to bring the world and interactive communications right into the classroom.
Students develop ICT capability as they learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas at school, and to prepare for their lives beyond school.
Students from Prep to Grade 6 learn how to apply their IT skills in their daily literacy and numeracy sessions, investigations and projects. Cyber safety is seen as a priority and is incorporated at every year level annually. Supporting our programs are specialist ICT teachers as well as the classroom teachers and a Specialist IT technician.
