Prep

In semester one, prep students are introduced to some very basic Mandarin words, such as “Hello” and “Goodbye”. Students are exposed to a range of topics in Mandarin, such as animals and body parts. Students are given the opportunity to practise the words and phrases through singing songs, playing games and working in pairs.

1/2s

In semester one, grade one and two students are exposed to a range of topics in Mandarin, such as animals, numbers, body parts and traditional Chinese games. Students learn and practise some basic Mandarin phrases through singing songs, completing worksheets and playing games.

3/4s

In semester one, grade three and four students are exposed to a wide range of topics in Mandarin, such as self-introductions, body parts and the Chinese New Year. Students are given the opportunity to learn and practise phrases and short sentences through role play, worksheets and games.

5/6s

In semester one, grade five and six students are exposed to a wide range of topics in Mandarin, such as simplified Chinese characters, self-introductions, body parts and the Chinese New Year. Phrase and sentences are reinforced through role play, dialogue making, memory games and worksheets.
