Prep

Students are investigating their school environment. We will work in the garden, growing plants and looking at the creatures that can be found in this environment. We will investigate the structure of plants and the basic needs of living things.

Grade 1/2

Students will investigate the ways in which weather affects our lives. They will gather scientific data about different aspects of the weather such as the temperature, rainfall, the wind direction and speed and the physical conditions. They will present their data in a form which makes it visually useful.

Grade 3/4

Students will work cooperatively as a team member to use coding to make an Ozobot robot move through different activities. During the activities they had to will define a simple problem, and come up with sequence of steps needed to solve it.

Grade 5/6A

During term two the students from 5/6A will work cooperatively as a team member to make a Lego EV3 robot. They will use the EV3 software to program the robot, whose components include motors and sensors, to move and to perform specific tasks. During the activities they will define problems, and together come up with sequence of steps needed to solve it.

At the end of term two the students will participate in a unit about human development. This unit gives the students an understanding of what happens to adolescents when they go through puberty, how humans reproduce and what the qualities of a healthy relationship are.

Grade 5/6B-E

Students are earning that Earth is part of a system of planets orbiting around a star (the Sun). They will research information, such as the size and colour of the planets, and make an accurate representation of the Solar System.

At the end of term two the students will participate in a unit about human development. This unit gave the students an understanding of what happens to adolescents when they go through puberty, how humans reproduce and what the qualities of a healthy relationship are.
